december

do you know who you are?
do you know who you've been?
do you know what we've said?
do remember what we've seen?

slow and easy we began
onion layers falling
like december snow

walking running airborn

stardance and sweetness
flash of teeth and tongue
bare breast and thigh
future bit and stung

you are so different
and divided; for a moment
a glimmer. there a spark.
but fleeting and flown,
do you see how you've grown?

cold and dark, memories for naught

lightning struck our souls
too young, too old, too late, too soon
the thunder never came
and we never touched the moon
